Medical Disclaimer

Short version. The Peptide File is an educational site run by a pseudonymous writer who is not a doctor. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Peptides discussed here are often not FDA-approved for human use. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions about your body.

Who is behind this site

I publish under the pen name JoyBoy. I have no medical, clinical, pharmaceutical, or regulatory credentials. I have not treated a patient. I have not run a trial. I am an independent reader of the published research. You should treat the content of this site the way you would treat a conversation with a reasonably well-read friend who is not a clinician. That is the ceiling.

What this site is

Educational content about peptides that have been studied in humans, or are being discussed despite not having been studied in humans. Summaries of published research. Commentary on regulatory status. Source-safety education built on the 503A compounding pharmacy framework that already exists in US law. Personal opinion, clearly fenced and clearly labeled as opinion.

What this site is not

  • Not medical advice. Nothing I write is a substitute for a real conversation with a qualified clinician who knows your history and can examine you.
  • Not a treatment recommendation. I never tell readers what to take, how much to take, how to take it, or when to take it. I do not provide protocols, dosing, cycles, or stacks.
  • Not a prescription. I cannot prescribe. I am not licensed to prescribe. No reader should treat anything here as a prescription.
  • Not diagnostic. I cannot diagnose anything. If you have symptoms, see a qualified clinician.
  • Not a vendor or a referral. The Peptide File does not sell, distribute, or facilitate the purchase of any peptide compound. I do not name specific vendors, suppliers, pharmacies, or marketplaces, even critically. I do not link to seller pages. The source-safety section is buyer education, never buyer enablement.

FDA and legal status

Many peptides covered on this site are not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for human use. Several are explicitly prohibited from compounding under Section 503A. Some have FDA approval for specific conditions and unapproved off-label discussion here. I flag FDA status in every monograph. You are responsible for understanding the legal status of any compound in your jurisdiction before discussing it with a clinician.

No doctor-patient relationship

Reading this site, emailing me, subscribing to the email list, downloading a lead magnet, or any other form of interaction does not create a doctor-patient relationship, a clinician-patient relationship, a professional consultation, or any kind of treating relationship. None of those exist here. I am not your doctor. I cannot be your doctor.

Emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, stop reading this site and call emergency services in your country. In the United States that is 911. If you think you are having a reaction to something you have already taken, call your clinician, Poison Control (1-800-222-1222 in the US), or emergency services. Do not email me. I cannot help in real time.

Pseudonymity, disclosed honestly

JoyBoy is a pen name. My identity is not disclosed. This is by design. If the pseudonymity of the author makes you less comfortable trusting the content here, that is a completely reasonable response, and you should weigh that against the evidence I cite and your own clinician’s judgment. I will never claim a credential I do not have. I will never invent a bio to seem more authoritative. I show my work through citations. You should judge the work on its merits and verify anything important with your clinician.

Anecdotes and personal experience

Every monograph includes a section called My Honest Take. That section is personal opinion and personal experience, clearly fenced and clearly labeled. Anything I say about my own experience is specific to me. It is not a description of what will happen to you. It is not a recommendation. It is one person’s honest take.

Liability

You use this site at your own risk. I make no warranty, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of anything published here. I am not liable for any outcome, adverse or otherwise, that follows from reading this site or acting on any information you found here. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider.
